PMI funded Foundation for a Smoke-Free World released their yearly Global Trends in Nicotine report, updating the previous report with data from 2020. Global Cigarette Retail Volumes reduced by 1.8% while Retail Values increased by 2.4% due to pricing increases. The Cigars and Cigarillos category showed a significant volume increase of 24.2% which the report partly attributes to price conscious consumers switching from Cigarettes to Cigarillos, mostly in Japan.
